PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Description: The proposed slaughterhouse, initiated by the Department of Agriculture, represents a critical infrastructure project aimed at modernizing the meat processing industry and ensuring food safety standards. Strategically located in San Rafael, Buhi, Camarines Sur, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a central hub for the humane and efficient slaughter, processing, and distribution of livestock, including cattle, pigs, and poultry.

The slaughterhouse will adhere to the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and animal welfare, incorporating advanced equipment and facilities to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. It will feature specialized areas for stunning, slaughtering, evisceration, and carcass processing, designed to optimize workflow efficiency and minimize waste generation.

In addition to primary processing functions, the facility will also include ancillary services such as waste management, by-product utilization, and quality control measures. Through the implementation of stringent safety protocols and adherence to international standards, the slaughterhouse aims to enhance consumer confidence in meat products while supporting the sustainable growth of the livestock industry. By providing a modern, centralized facility for meat processing, the Department of Agriculture seeks to promote economic development, food security, and animal welfare within the region.
